FREE Well-Woman Exams & STI Testing
Ongoing healthcare is essential to a woman’s health and safety, which is why well-woman exams are recommended on an annual basis for most women. No insurance? No problem! FPSSP providers are proud to offer free wellness services for qualified individuals. Free services include sexually transmitted infection (STI/STD) testing and well-women exams.
What is a Well-Woman Exam?
A well-woman exam is offered to women as a way to review elements of their reproductive health. The exams can vary by medical facility, but oftentimes include a breast exam, a pelvic examination, and a pap smear. Well-woman exams are provided at the FPSSP provider’s location or through a referral to a local medical practitioner. All exams are done by a physician, nurse practitioner, APRN, or physician assistant.
STI/STD Testing
The Florida Wellness Services Program, sponsored by the State of Florida, provides testing for Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI/STD). Our STI/STD testing services are confidential and free of charge. Our testing checks for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, two of the most common STI’s. It is not a comprehensive test for all sexually transmitted infections. See the map of centers to find a location near you that offers free STD/STI testing. Clients eligible for a free well woman exam will receive STI testing as part of their exam.
Do You Qualify for Free Wellness Services?
Wellness exams and STI testing are offered free of charge to qualified individuals. Requirements include being 18 or older, not having an exam in at least a year, being an uninsured individual, and having a valid US government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) or other acceptable proof of Florida residency.
